This gift box cake was a special thank you to folks at the Canada Post office. And during this holiday season, they certainly deserve a big thank you – I definitely have used them to send my Christmas gifts away!
I had a lot of fun making the envelope. After coming across Stephane Klein and his mad airbrushing skills, I decided to use a masking technique to airbrush the red and blue stripes on the edge of the envelope. The stamp was hand cut(using a toothpick to make the holes) and hand painted. The bow is made of gumpaste – which allows me to roll out very thin – then painted with an edible lustre dust.
Happy holiday wishes!
